Golf

Golf

One of the many favorite activities in Glynn County is golf. With 216 holes, the Golden Isles is Georgia’s largest golf resort. Courses are available on Sea Island, Jekyll Island, St. Simons Island and in Brunswick. Private and public courses are available and each course features its own individual challenges. For those who prefer not to test their talents on the large courses, miniature golf is always sure to provide plenty of family fun.

Beach Fun

There are many beaches to choose from, all with a different personality. Since the tides in this area are dramatic (6-8 feet), some secret beaches may only exist at low tide. Beaches in the Golden Isles are constantly changing but offer up the perfect place to walk, run, fly kites, build a sandcastle or relax doing nothing at all.

Kayaking

Explore even more of the Golden Isles along the endless network of rivers and inlets. For the avid kayaker, feel free to launch your own kayak at one of the many public boat ramps but, make sure you check your tide charts since tides change as much as 6-8 feet. For the novice kayaker, year-round kayaking trips from two hours to seven day excursions are offered by local outfitters like Ocean Motion and Southeast Adventures.

Paddleboarding

The Golden Isles are quickly becoming the premier location for stand up paddleboarding along the Georgia coast. Because of our location in the “Atlantic Bite”, the western-most point on the East Coast, the ocean stays relatively calm creating the perfect conditions. Paddle along the many unique beaches or explore the beautiful inlets, rivers and tranquil marshland.
